Fall Video Around The Farm

Since you LOVED the last video update I did, I decided to do it again! It's all stuff I had Hanging out on my phone for the past two months. Enjoy your virtual sneak peek into our lives and doing chores!

Farm Update September 26th 2021

As lovers of the simple life, we sure do ride the crazy train over here, as I’m sure you can relate. Since you’ve visited, there is a new fence up, and we’re still doing hay, still moving pigs, chickens, and cattle around.

The Ugly Truth about...

Did you know that this Open Farm Day thing is a County-wide deal? It's true; a few other farms are opening their doors as well so you can see how your delicious food is made. Why is this important? Industrial agriculture passes laws to keep people and cameras out; we’re doing the exact opposite. We invite you to come on out and see. We want you to know how healthy food is grown, how much goes into it, to see the land the animals roam on.

Around the Farm Video Update 7/20/21

Sometimes it's easier to tell you and show you what's been going on around the farm vs. typing it into an email. The beginning of the video is me telling you what's up, and at the end (05:20), I've attached some clips of around the farm that I've taken this past month for you to enjoy- it's a peek into our everyday world and life.

Farm Life Craziness

Our newest Guardian Dog Sally is still a pup, and she has decided that after chewing on a few chickens, they are tasty. (hand to palm) So we have been working with her, only allowing her near the chickens when we are there.

Strolling Pigs

We had a few pigs escape from our make-shift laneways and had to play ring-around-the-rosie with them. They didn’t want to leave their old pasture and walk all that distance - they just didn’t see the point- until they listened and got to where we were going. Those girls can be stinkers!

Happy Mother's Day

Call it connection, Call it love. There is always a lot of connection, love, and life happening over here on the farm. We’ve got dozens of calves running around now and are soaking up these spring rains as they come.

Meet Poppy

Poppy is more like a pet than some of the others. Her mother rejected her when she was born (it’s a hereditary trait that we usually cull heavy on), but Poppy is the exception. We decided to keep her because she kinda became family after all those months of bottle feeding her.

Fixing Tractors and New Dog

The Oliver 1750 was purchased back when we were dating (circa 2008), and back then, he tore it down and put a 5.9 Cummins in it. She has been the steady workhorse here for many years. She’s currently torn down again to rebuild the motor from top to bottom. She’s getting all new parts.

Recipe Sharing

Do you have a favorite way of cooking a roast or a go-to cut that you order over and over with a favorite way of preparing it? We would love to feature you and your recipe!
